Blue screen of death is common among windows users. It will shows up when your system crashes. Well, to I am going to share with you something that happens 10 years ago. Something that happens to Bill Gates during his live demo of windows 98.

Trips back to SP foodcourts!

Just got back my coursework 1 feedback. Although these comments are from local lecturer and not official result but still a bit sad. Never mind, can try harder.

After school ends at 12pm, my CIS frens and I had a 2nd trip to SP foodcourt, but this time is foodcourt 4. Let me see if I can remeber the faces that I saw and their modules.

First trip - foodcourt 6 (14 Jan 2008):

Liao Fong Sow - e-commerce application development
& the lab technician! lol
Food: Chicken Katsu Don and barley drink!
Changes: Overlook is still the same, Chicken rice stall no more.

Second trip - foodcourt 4 (23 Jan 2008):

Food: Fried Wanton Mee pok
Changes: Abit renovation and better seats and table.

First my sister bought home a brochure from singaporemint, I feel like buying a coin for the year of RAT and ask her to buy for me. The next day, my sister bought it as a gift for me! which cost S$64. Since young, I enjoyed collecting old notes and special edition coins. Below are some pic I took with my N73.

For many times, you guys tried logging out then log in still faced the "cannot see file"problem? Tried using the MSN Live file sharing feature but the synchronization seems to take forever? Disable Outlook Express in Windows XP

3 days ago I showed you how to disable the irritating outlook express in FireFox. Today I will show you how to disable outlook express in Windows. This post is aimed for users of Internet Explorer 7.

Start > Run > "secpol.msc"


Click on "Software Restriction Policies"
> Right click on "Additional Rules"
> Click on "New Path Rule"


Copy and paste
"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"
onto the path and security level is "Disallowed" then click "OK"

There you go! Now you can go ahead and click on email links and the outlook express will not load, but u will still get a "email client not configured" error message. Disable Outlook Express in FireFox

Irritated when outlook express loads and hang your FireFox for a few second, when you accidentally click on those email link? Tried removing Outlook Express from "add/remove windows components" but it didn't worked? If you are facing this problem like me, your problem will be solved!

Stupid Outlook Express load?


Open up your FireFox and type in
"about:config" in the web address


Type "mail" in the filter and look for
"network.protocol-handler.external.mailto"


Double click on it and change it to "false". There u go!
This problem is solved!

You can now start click on email links until the sun goes down, but Outlook will never load. This is why FireFox is the best web browser in the world!

and fetch mails to your gmail every hour.

Smart way? It's free and simple, from now on, you do not have to worry about check your SingNet email or your outlook flooded with spam mails. I simply thought of this idea and initially tried it in Yahoo Mail but it does not work. Remember, all gmail will take transport all your mail from your SingNet to gmail, meaning you SingNet mail will always be emptied... You have one less email to check!

Custom Flash Drive Icons

2th day of 2008, I am going to teach you how to make the icon of your thumb drive unique! (Source: Tech-Recipes)

Simple look for your favorite icon file and name it "autorun.ico" and put it in your flash drive, do not put it inside any other folders!
(some recommened websites: http://www.favicon.co.uk/, http://www.favicon.cc/)

Next open up your notepad and put the below code inside

[autorun]
icon=autorun.ico

Then save it as "autorun.inf" in the same (root) directory where you put your icon file.

You can now safely remove your flash/thumb drive and plug into your PC again to see the effect! If your feel that the 2 new files are abit irritating, you can set the attributes to hidden and click refresh, but both files need to be in your flash drive.

Troubleshoot my SpeedTouch 330 Modem

Anyone using the same Virus Scan as me? Because sometimes my SpeedTouch 330 USB modem keep giving me connection problem to SingNet I often need to disable the windows firewall and anti-virus.

Useful information for SingNet Broadband users, your technical help desk is 1800 8486933
and to test if you are really connected to SingNet you can "ping 165.21.83.88" which is the SingNet DNS server

By default, this option is disabled.
To turn this feature off and enable the menu item:

Right click on the VShield icon in the system
tray and choose "Virus Scan Console".

Right click the entry
for "Access Protection" and choose "Properties".


Un-check the option for "Prevent McAfee
services from being stopped" and click OK.


There your go~ it's enabled!
