Car plates are controlled by LTA. In general, all plates number in Singapore
come with the registration number, prefixed with SXX alphabet. Thus, car numbers
are in the form of SDZ1234A, of which "SDZ1234" is the registration number,
while "A" is a check digit.
Car license plate numbers began in the early days with a Single S, then from
SB to SY. After SY, cars starts with EA to EZ, ranges from 1973 to 1984. From
1984 onwards car plate starts from SBA

| TP: | Motorcycles of the Traffic Police Department, Singapore Police Force |
| SZ/SZA: | Rental vehicle. New Hire/Rental cars use same series as normal cars |
