Wow, saw this from SingTel website saying that they will be providing free internet services in Singapore at a speed of 512kbps for 3 years till 30 November 2009. The picture above is the wireless coverage area for Ang Mo Kio. Laptops, PDAs or WiFi enabled handsets can also use this service. By paying $9.90/month, you can surf at a double speed of 1Mbps. Currently SingNet home user are paying $29.95 for 512kbps(will u sell ur pc and buy a laptop, then everytime u want to surf net, u go to those hotspots? lol). In recent issues of "InfoTech", they were talking about "illegal tapping" into other user's unprotected home internet networks. Maybe this free internet service might help reduced such problems? Anyway, it doesnt affects me~ lol. For more Information visit:http://home.singtel.com/wirelessSG/wsg_index.htm
Since this appears on the FAQ pdf file, I believe StarHub will also have this kinda of free internet service(but don't take my words for it, lol). One thing for sure StarHub is currently offering free broadband access to sites like MapleStory, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! and webmail services.
Opps! You still need to buy a cable modem from starhub, that means its not wireless. LMAO!For more information please refer to the link below:
